Julie Bishop surprised at a recent event less than two weeks after her boyfriend of eight years broke up with her.
Former foreign minister Julie Bishop was all smiles at a recent event following her break-up with longtime boyfriend David Panton.
Images of Ms Bishop speaking at a Mineral Resources professional development program show her looking carefree and laughing with the employee graduates who attended.
Ms Bishop posted the jubilant pictures to her Instagram on Monday night, less than two weeks after her partner of eight years called their relationship off.
“Addressing employee graduates at Mineral Resources’ professional development program, sharing my career journey, the sliding-door moments plus a few tips,” she wrote in the caption.
“What a diverse, ambitious and inspiring group of future leaders. We also joined in the dot painting project for #naidoc2022.”
The former Liberal member for Curtin was inundated with positive comments underneath the post who praised her work and “glamorous” look.
“Looking as gorgeous as ever,” one said.
“Was awesome to see you in action,” said another.
“Inspiring. Thank you for sharing your advice and career progression. You are as eloquent as you are glamorous,” another declared.
It was the first time the Australian National University Chancellor had posted on Instagram since late June.
Her last post was a picture of her and Mr Panton with Prince Charles at a gala dinner, just two days before he broke up with her.
The NSW property developer told Ms Bishop on Friday, July 1 that the relationship was over at the Eastbank restaurant on Macquarie St, Sydney, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
“I’m going to be focused on living in Manly and Melbourne for the foreseeable future,” Mr Panton said in a statement to the newspaper.
“I wish Julie all the best in her ongoing stellar career.”
Ms Bishop’s people have previously said she would not be making any comments about the break-up.
