High society Sydney couple Ellie and Charlie Aitken reunite after public split
A huge public split among one of Sydney’s most recognisable high society couples saw Charlie Aitken leave his wife for her best friend. Now they’re holidaying together.
The high society Sydney couple who split in very public fashion in December have reunited overseas.
Sydney socialite Ellie Aitken and her husband of 19 years Charlie Aitken went their separate ways after it was revealed Charlie left his wife for her former best friend Hollie Nasser.
Hollie was married to Charlie’s investor husband Christopher Nasser and the four had been pictured together on social media.
The Aitkens, who co-founded Aitken Investment Management, were seen facing off outside their family home in Bondi in December as Charlie collected things and put them in the boot of his car.
Earlier, Ellie posted and then deleted text messages between her and Hollie Nasser that revealed they were clashing.
Ellie said she regrets posting the messages to social media but had been “pushed to my limits over the weekend”.
In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “Dear friends, it’s no secret that the last few weeks have been an incredibly difficult time for me personally while dealing with a very hurtful private situation.”
She continued, saying she had attempted to “put on a brave face”.
“The truth is that despite the support of friends and family I have not coped well with the deeply hurtful lies, gossip and innuendo that has surrounded the breakdown of my relationship.”
Sydney Confidential revealed in May that Hollie and Charlie had ended their relationship.
Seven months on, pictures have emerged of the Aitkens holidaying together in Italy.
They are pictured on a yacht in Capri with their two children.
It is not clear if the couple are back together.
It comes after Hollie recently reflected on her marriage breaking down.
“Chris has always been a loving and devoted father,” she said.
“We are working together to co-parent our children … The past nine months have been very difficult and I have expressed my apologies to my family and others involved.”
