Woman thinks she’s ‘too beautiful to make friends’

Claiming being beautiful can be a curse, a woman says her looks have caused a rift between her and her group of friends.

Being beautiful may sound like a blessing, but sometimes it can also be a curse.

Lily Pitfield, 25, a fashion assistant, from Canary Wharf, London, tells how her looks have caused a rift between her and her friendship group.

“I’ve lost some pals in the past because they didn’t like me being the centre of attention, even though I really didn’t want to be,” Lily, who’s single, tells The Sun.

“Others refused to invite me to their birthday parties as they were worried I’d steal the limelight.

“Girls can be super mean and b*tchy. It’s frustrating because I’m kind, goofy and humble and was raised to be beautiful inside and out.”

Lily, who’s single, discovered she had “pretty privilege” when she was 18.

“I was at a club and a man sent over a drink. I didn’t do anything to suggest I was interested in him so I was really shocked. I waved and said thank you and was genuinely chuffed,” she said.

“It was a huge confidence boost, up until then I had no idea how you look could influence how you’re treated.”

Lily said the ‘kind treatment’ continued into her 20s.

“When I go out with my friends, guys always single me out and give me free drinks and bouncers will wave me to the front of the queue and give me free entry to clubs,” she continues.

“It’s caused a stir with my friends as they don’t get the same treatment, but I can’t help it.

“I never go out assuming it will happen, it just does.”

When she goes on holiday, she’ll get treated like a celebrity.

“In 2016 I was in Greece when the owner of a super yacht spotted me on the beach and invited me on a cruise. The whole day I was showered with amazing food and drinks,” she said.

“He wasn’t after anything in return, he just said he hoped me being there would attract the ‘cool crowd’.

“My family and friends remind me not everyone gets this treatment so I’m always grateful.

“Strangers are always nice to me, and I seem to always get what I want.”
