Grandma, 57, regularly mistaken for 34-year-old daughter

Strangers regularly compliment this grandmother for her youthful appearance, often saying she looks just like her 34-year-old daughter.

Six exercises mums can do at home

A grandma has revealed she’s often mistaken for her daughter — despite a 23-year age gap.

Mum-of-two Andrea Malczewski, 34, is forever having to explain to people that her mum Sharon Gause, 57, is not her sister.

The grandma-of-two puts her youthful looks down to her gruelling gym workouts and sharing fashion tips with her daughter.

The pair — who are both hairdressers from the US — claim their youthful fashion taste and regular exercise keep them looking their best.

They’ve completed four marathons together and nine half-marathons in a bid to stay fit — and say they love being compared as sisters as it makes their inseparable bond even stronger.

Sharon, who also has a son Jason, 32, and two grandkids, Kiya, 12, and Adrienna, 9, “loves being glamorous” and said hubby of 37 years Rob loves her age-defying appearance.

“My husband Rob says I look better now than I did when I married him 37 years ago,” she said.

“I have always been into make-up, but Andrea keeps me up-to-date with what products are best, and I always moisturise and wear sunscreen.”

But while being compared to your mum could wear thin quickly, Andrea insists she loves it.

“It is pretty funny when people ask, ‘Are you two sisters?’ But it’s no surprise because my mum looks more like she is in her 30s than nearly 60.

“People are always complimenting my mum and saying how awesome she is. It’s good that she looks after herself and keeps super fit for her age.”

Sharon admits she loves to wear skin-tight midi dresses and do “similar” things to her daughter but would never buy anything that would make her “look like she is trying to be young”.

“I think I definitely help keep her young,” Andrea added, explaining they both lead a “very healthy lifestyle”.
