It’s Steve Irwin’s 57th birthday — and the Aussie legend is getting some serious love on his special day.

If you’ve been on the internet today, chances are you’ve seen the Google Doodle dedicated to the late-wildlife warrior.

Google have created six animations to mark the Crocodile Hunter’s birthday — honouring the Aussie icon — and the result is a bucket load of tears and emotion.

There’s six colourful illustrations depicting Steve as we know him best, working among wildlife and spending time with his family.

In the opening image, Steve is holding a giant croc who has the letter ‘L’ from Google clasped between his sharp teeth.

Next you see him in a boat with his beloved Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who sadly died back in 2004.

The pair appear to be on a billabong as Steve films some giant crocs nearby.

He is then shown putting on one of his famous feeding shows at Australia Zoo performing in the early days before he found fame and again to a camera-happy audience.

His catchphrase “Crikey” appears among a sea of polaroid style drawings of him with a variety of different animals in the fourth animation, including snakes, reptiles, whales and birds.

The whole Irwin family are also honoured, with an adorable drawing of a young Bindi and Robert with their parents being included.

In it, Steve and wife Terri are doting over the two tots, as Bindi portrays her matching passion to dad, holding a mini crocodile.

The final drawing shows the amazing memorial Terri, 54, Bindi, 20, and Rob, 15, have built for Steve since his passing 13 years ago, showing them outside Australia Zoo, surrounded by koalas and cockatoos.

There’s a stream of guests waiting to get inside, showing just how successful they’ve been at building and fulfilling Steve’s dream of sharing the joys of wildlife conservation with the world.

Steve died in 2006 while filming his hit TV show when a stingray pierced his heart with its barb.

Bindi took to Instagram today to share a heartfelt message for her dad.

“Thank you for always being my guiding light,” she wrote.

She also shared an adorable photo of her as a bub with her dad as he cradled both her and a koala.

Fans have taken to Twitter to express their love of the moving tribute, with many declaring they’ve been left in tears.
