Woman’s Tinder date goes horribly wrong in seconds
A woman decided to try Tinder after having ended her marriage with her previous partner — but she wasn’t prepared for what was to happen.
A woman has been left mortified after her first Tinder date goes horribly wrong in a matter of seconds.
Taking it to TikTok, Tara, a relationship coach, shared the disastrous storytime, which has taken the internet by storm, racking up close to 190,000 views since being posted, The Sun reports.
Tara, who was working as a teacher at the time, explained that after having ended her marriage with the previous partner, she decided to start dating and joined Tinder.
After matching with a guy who boosted Tara’s confidence by complimenting her, the woman agreed to meet up with him that very day.
With a 45 minute window that was free — Tara’s a single mum — the two agreed to go for a quick coffee in the afternoon.
Tara had just finished her shift and began to make her way to the coffee shop wearing her professional clothing.
“As I’m driving [ …], he texts me and goes ‘I think you’ll like my jammies’.
“And [ …] I text back ‘hahaha’ because I think he’s joking – because who shows up to a date in your pyjamas when you’re meeting someone dressed professionally?”
However, to her surprise, her would be Romeo did arrive in pyjamas – SpongeBob SquarePants flannel pants, she specified, with wolf slippers.
To make matters even worse, she then noticed three of her students come in.
“And the whole time I’m thinking ‘They know I’m on a date with a guy wearing giant wolf slippers’.”
Throughout the date, Tara’s Tinder match kept on talking about the novel he had been working on, claiming it would be better than the widely acclaimed Marvel series.
“And I just listen politely and ask clarifying questions because d**n, I’m polite,” she said.
“And then, at the end of the date, I say politely ‘It was really nice to meet you but I don’t think I’m interested’.”
However, the man didn’t take the rejection too well, as he proceeded to say: “B***h, I wouldn’t have driven all this way and worn my best wolf slippers if I had known it was gonna end like this.”
‘”And that was my first Tinder date,” she ended the video.
Despite the rather traumatic experience, Tara wasn’t put off and remained active on Tinder — where she later met her now husband.
Viewers were in shock, with some taking it to comments to share their thoughts.
“Bet he’s still wondering why he’s single,” wrote someone alongside laughing emojis.
“He really said that?!??! Men have all the audacity … there is none left,” another was mortified at what she had just heard.
Someone else didn’t find Tara’s experience funny at all and said: “We have to stop trying so hard to be polite.
“Women have been socialised to be compliant and it’s dangerous on so many levels.”
