Woman busts Bumble match by Apple Watch and text

A woman has explained how she busted her online match when she noticed something odd about his photo and texts.

A woman unleashed her ultimate “detective” skills when she grew suspicious of a man she matched with on a dating app.

Jocelyn, from Ontario, Canada, realised she was being catfished on Bumble simply by noticing the man’s Apple Watch.

The 29-year-old took to TikTok, in a now viral video, where she explained she had matched with a man by the name of Myles.

However, it was when their conversation moved to text messages when she noticed the man was an Android user.

Jocelyn, who uses an iPhone, knew this because his texts turned green, indicating that he was not an iPhone user.

Jocelyn, from Ontario, Canada, managed to discover her Bumble match was catfishing her when she noticed something odd about his profile images and texts.

And while she has nothing against Android users, she had remembered a photo from his profile showing him wearing an Apple watch which eventually lead her to uncover the man’s real identity.

“Welcome back to another episode of, Could dating be any more fun?” Jocelyn began the clip.

She explained that after matching with Myles, she was “into it” and found him good-looking and went on to send him a message.

“I don’t really give him too much information about myself. I’ve definitely chatted with people too long on the app in the past, so I’m like, I’m not doing that this time,” she continued.

“He says we should get dinner sometime, and I’m like, ‘Great’, because I don’t want to talk in the app, I want to meet in person and see if I even like him.

“I say ‘yes’ to having dinner. He says ‘maybe some time this week’. I say sure, sounds good to me, and I give him my number and say text me when and where.

“He texts me pretty quickly being like, “Hey, it’s so-and-so.”

It was in this moment she notices his texts are in green, and not blue.

“Now what does green mean?” she asked before showing a photo of him to be wearing an Apple watch — the colour Apple designates for non-iPhone users

“It means he does not have an iPhone,” she continued with a stunned look.

“So I do a reverse image search of some of the pictures he used on his profile, and what do we have here? An Instagram model from New York,” she said, showing the Instagram profile of a model from Brooklyn.

Here is an image her match used where is wearing an Apple Watch.

“I live in Ontario, so math’s not mathing. The guy I matched with is pretending to be somebody named Myles — not Ron, the actual guy who’s in the picture.

“Thankfully, I hardly spoke to this guy and invested zero per cent of my time, and have not even told him yet that I know that he’s catfishing me.”

Jocelyn’s ‘beware of catfish’ video has clocked almost 1 million views since she shared it last week, with others also revealing they matched with the man.

“I matched with this guy also!! Lol same bs story,” one viewer wrote, while others commended Jocelyn on her “defective work”.

However, when Jocelyn did a reverse search on Google, she discovered the man was using the profile of a model from New York. Bumble has since apologised and removed Myles from the dating app. Picture: TikTok/jjustjocelyn

“Good sleuthing! Very observant. I’ve had to hone those skills myself on gay male dating sites,” said another, while a third added: “That is an impressive observation “.

Jocelyn’s clip also prompted Bumble to respond in the comments section.

“We’re so sorry to hear about this! We’ve found the member and permanently removed them.”

In a follow-up video, Jocelyn explained her conversation with Myles continued where she suggested to meet on a Friday for dinner.

“Once he nails down a place, I’m gonna then send a screenshot and be like, ‘So are you gonna show up or this guy?’ and then send the Instagram,” she said, before revealing she had reported his profile on Bumble.

But in a final update, Jocelyn said that Myles never replied to her last message.

“I’m thinking he may have seen the TikTok,” she said

“If he’s looking for attention and I’m just wanting to set up dinner, it’s not really fun for him.”
