Twitter date: Blaine Gibson takes followers “out” after being stood up

IT HAD been a bad week for Austin’s Blaine Gibson. Tragically, his co-worker had died. He was looking forward to a date night to get his mind off things, but alas it was not meant to be.

She didn’t show. Instead of wallowing in self pity he decided to take his 80k followers on a date.

What's protocol when it comes to determining if you've been stood up on a date? It's been 20 minutes.. I've got a bad feeling..

“When I knew I got ditched, I realised how laughably bad my week had been. Instead of being a baby about it I made lemonade out of lemons and I have zero regrets about it,” he told news.com.au

It all began when he heard nothing from the girl after texting her three times before he arrived and when he arrived at their date. He has still not heard back from her.

But he enjoyed date night nonetheless taking his followers to get some dessert, a visit to a toy store, a ride on a mechanical bull and a pedicabber around Austin.

Blaine tells news.com.au he has not given up on finding the one, and is headed on another date tonight.

”She seems a lot nicer than the last girl, I’ve got a good feeling about this one.”
