A MELBOURNE hotel has cancelled a series of appearances by an American “pick up artist”, after a petition labelling his teachings “sexist and racist” received over 10,000 signatures.

The Como Hotel in Melbourne was set to host 25-year-old Julien Blanc this week, a self-described “executive dating coach” and “the international leader in dating advice”.

Mr Blanc is currently touring Australia running dating seminars which promise to help men “become a true pimp with the highest abundance of hot women in the shortest amount of time”.

Mr Blanc’s website, pimpingmygame.com, says he can help “make girls BEG to sleep with you after short-circuiting their emotional and logical mind into a million reasons why they should.”

He encourages men to use “male privilege, isolation and emotional abuse” to land women.

On Monday, a change.org petition titled ‘Cancel Julien Blanc’s Seminar’ launched, urging The Como Hotel to cancel Mr Blanc’s seminars.

“Julien Blanc is a sexist and racist ‘pick up artist,’ who has made a living by teaching men how to violate women through physical and emotional abuse,” the petition says.

“Please cancel his seminar he plans to host in your hotel on November 6. Do not associate your hotel’s good name with a man who chokes women around the world as part of his pick up game. Please stand with the women of Australia and women everywhere, and do not host an event where men are being taught how to violate and harass women.”

The petition has over 10,000 signatures and has spawned the hashtag #TakeDownJulienBlanc on Twitter.

The Como Hotel in Melbourne today tweeted: “We appreciate your comments relating to Real Social Dynamics and their planned event at our hotel. Following our objective review, The Como Melbourne is in the process of advising Real Social Dynamics of our decision not to proceed as the venue for the event in question.”

Twitter users have slammed Julien Blanc and praised The Como Hotel for cancelling his appearance.
