Single mum shares daughter’s adorable dating advice
A 10-year-old girl who wrote her mum a note when she broke up with her boyfriend has earned praise for a piece of brilliant advice she shared.
A single mum was left in hysterics after her 10-year-old daughter left her a note which included dating advice.
Deborah Goldman, from Essex, UK, took to Facebook to share a photo of the adorable letter alongside the caption, “My work as a mum is done”.
“This is something they don’t teach you at school! My work as a mum is done,” she posted in the group Family Lockdown Tips & Ideas.
The note began with her daughter Jessica telling Deborah how much of an “incredible mummy” she is, before listing all the reasons why she loved her.

These included “you are powerful”, “you’re funny” and “you are caring”.
But the one sentence that stuck out to the single mum, which was also in capital letters, was a line that read, “YOU DON’T NOT NEED MEN”.
“You are independent and proud,” Jessica continued in her note.
The mother-of-two, who is also a boxing coach, explained that the letter was written after a recent split with her boyfriend, and her daughter wrote it to “make me feel better”.
“I’m so proud of her because my purpose in life is to ensure that my children grow into strong, confident women,” Deborah told The Sun.
The post struck a chord with parents which has gone on to attract more than 14,000 ‘likes’.
“Omg! If my daughter wrote anything like this I be sooooo proud!! Well Done Mum! That is a life lesson taught right there!” one woman commented.
“I’m not crying, you are!!” wrote another.
Jessica also told her mother how much of an “awesome” boxer she is, describing her as a “superhero”.
The single mum runs workout sessions on Zoom from her home gym and often shares motivational posts to her Instagram.

“This year I, like so many others, have had to adapt to an extremely fluid situation,” she explained in a post on December 30.
“For me that meant learning how to run online workouts while attempting to homeschool a pair of unwilling and highly-opinionated twins.
“In addition to those challenges I also quit my job, opened my own gym studio, closed my gym studio, reopened it, and then swiftly closed it again.”
She explained that what “really blows my mind” is the very “powerful and palpable” shift in people’s mindsets.
“Home, family and love are what really matter and I feel that the pandemic has served to highlight how everything else in life is just a distraction.”
She told The Sun that part of her purpose in life was to empower women and girls through boxing and through her own experiences of being a woman and a mother in the sport.
