Selena Gomez has taken to social media to defend her new relationship

Selena Gomez has taken to Instagram to respond to trolls and she discussed everything from her ex to what work she’s had done.

Selena Gomez is going viral for directly responding to fans who aren’t happy about her new relationship with Benny Blanco and responding to rumours she’s had work done.

Gomez, 31, revealed that she’s dating the producer who, yes, used to make music with her famous ex, Justin Bieber, on Instagram.

Blanco, 35, is less well-known than Gomez but has worked on over 29 number-one songs and has collaborated with everyone from Ariana Grande to Ed Sheeran.

The former Disney star described her relationship with Blanco as “everything in her heart” and then ended up feuding with people on Instagram over him.

The relationship isn’t exactly controversial, but in 2020, fans accused Blanco of shading Gomez.

At the time, he was promoting music he’d created with Bieber, including the hit Lonely, and while singing Bieber’s praises, people thought he was dissing Gomez.

“Justin’s not one of those cookie-cutter pop artists. Like, you know, they’re like, ‘This is my new single and here’s my makeup line’,” he said on the Zach Sang Show in 2020.

Gomez, of course, has a makeup line and makes music and acts and there was a theory floating around it was a jab at her.

Fast-forward to 2023 and the pair have come out as a couple and when they announced their relationship, some fans were obsessed with the fact he used to work with her ex, and he’d allegedly shaded her in the past.

Usually, when famous people become very famous, they rarely interact with trolls or respond to fans about their personal lives, but Gomez wasn’t holding back.

She told one critic that he was “better than anyone I’ve been with” and another that he was the “best thing” that ever happened to her and, for a bit of dramatic effect, added “the end.”

Gomez went further down the internet rabbit hole and also, according to TMZ, slammed fans who suggested she could do better than the producer.

“I appreciate your misguided input but I’m growing. Don’t feel free to grow with me, just know I’m not going to be with a f***boy ever again,” she commented,

The whole thing was quickly becoming as messy as a Married At First Sight dinner party, and she just kept going.

She even decided to comment on people’s scrutiny over her looks and when one rogue troll suggested she remove the cheek filler, she snapped back and said she’d only had “Botox” done.

It was popping off.

Still, the young couple clearly aren’t deterred from that and are still sharing their relationship online.

Blanco commented a heart emoji underneath Gomez’s latest Instagram post but online people are flawed, that Gomez responded with such vigour to the online trolls, and everyone was confused.

“If she’s happy, she shouldn’t have to explain herself,” one argued.

“She doesn’t know how to choose a man,” another claimed.

“Real talk, love it,” another applauded.

“I support their relationship,” one wrote.
