New Zealand woman slams Aussie dating culture

A woman who moved Down Under has taken aim at Australia’s dating culture, specifically how men don’t pursue women in a way she is used to.
Annaleise May is originally from New Zealand and moved to Australia, and revealed she was startled by the difference in dating cultures between the two countries.
“It kinda blew me away. The guys in New Zealand — well the dates I’ve been on, the relationships I’ve been in — the guys put in effort, they pursue you,” she said.
“They make you feel great and they do little acts of service where it just makes you feel very fulfilled and great, right.”
She said in Australia everyone was incredibly good looking but she said that was all men had to offer and “not much more else”.
“To be honest, they kind of act like — at least the ones I’ve been on dates with — teenage girls. Like how I would’ve acted when I was 15.”
She said they looked like men but they were incredibly immature, adding Australian men didn’t put in a lot of effort into the dates. She said she’d been on some OK dinner dates but found that Australian men put in effort one time and felt that’s all they had to do.
She also said men expected her to come to them most of the time and she was shocking, asking why she would come to them when she’d never met them before.
Social media comments echoed Annaleise’s thoughts on the matter, with one saying; “I need to move to NZ. Dating in Aus is so disappointing.”
Another said: “I went out on a date in Australia with an NZ guy, he paid for everything (I offered) and made me feel special, we knew it wasn’t going anywhere, he was going back home but he was a good guy!”
“Girl! You speak truth. I’m an Aussie and went to NZ and met my husband there,” another social media user said.
