Miss World Australia finalist Kanika Batra reveals what you need to know before you break up with a narcissist
The 26-year-old beauty queen who is living with narcacism has revealed the “scary” reality of breaking up with someone like her.
Break ups are never easy, but you could be in for a particularly wild ride if you’re planning on separating from a narcissistic partner.
If you thought the relationship was bad, the worst may still be yet to come, with narcissists likely to be out to cause some carnage in all areas of your life, according to Miss World Australia finalist Kanika Batra.

Don’t be surprised if your ex makes a beeline for your friends, family and even your boss, and does their utmost to paint you in the worst light possible.
Speaking with news.com.au’s relationship podcast Kinda Sorta Dating host Jana Hocking, the beauty queen, who lives with sociopathy and has traits of narcissism, told listeners to prepare for the worst.
“If you’re neurotypical and you break up with a narcissist, you’re in for a real sh*t storm,” the 26-year-old said.
“They’re pretty scary. I would not recommend.”
Having navigated a tumultuous string of relationships with her own set of anti-social and narcissistic personality traits, Kanika knows all too well what fellow neurodiverse individuals are capable of.
“Because they have such fragile egos, if you shatter that, you’re in for a really rough time,” she said.

“They will smear you, they will absolutely destroy your reputation. They may try and cause physical harm. They may try to emotionally manipulate your friends against you.”
A break up between two narcissists may be an even bigger recipe for disaster Kanika said, given they both were “weak on the inside” and “aggressive on the outside”.
“They’ll try make you lose your job, your friends, attack your family, all the things they could possibly do,” she said.
Despite their often intimidating presence however, she said they were far more naive than people typically thought.
“You can manipulate the crap out of them,” she said, explaining how in a face-off between sociopaths and narcissists, it was more likely that sociopaths would come out on top.
While some mental health professionals refuse to work with people who have a narcissistic diagnosis, Kanika argues such a stance can do more harm than good.
“Narcissism can’t be cured but it can be treated,” she said.
The dating experience is one of many Jana delves into in the 24-minute podcast episode.
