Aussie influencer Mikaela Testa has broken her silence on her split from long-term boyfriend Atis Paul, after the pair shocked fans by parting ways earlier this month.
Paul was the first to address his break-up from the OnlyFans creator – who is also widely known as the “crying influencer” after she broke down over Instagram removing likes in 2019 – telling his Instagram followers that the couple “love each other so much and decided to be friends now”.
“Everything is perfect between us. We both agree it’s better this way,” the 21-year-old “crypto bro” added.
While Testa had initially been less forthcoming about the break-up – only telling her fans at the time that their supportive messages were making her “so emotional” – the 22-year-old offered more detail in an Instagram Q&A on Monday.
Asked what happened between her and Paul – who she began dating more than three years ago, while both were in relationships with different people – she echoed his explanation, declaring the pair “will always be in love with each other, we never stopped”.
“Nothing bad happened, it’s just life getting in the way and certain things we want/need in life,” she added, before telling her followers, “that’s enough Atis questions please”.
Testa said the couple “will never be together again but we will always support each other and we ask our supporters to love us as separate people”.
Others wondered what she’d do with a tattoo of the letter “A” (evidently referring to the first initial of Paul’s name), asking if she’d keep it “or cover it up”.
“I’ll keep it forever,” Testa responded, alongside a crying and a laughing emoji.
“Whoever marries me will have to deal with it.”
She also told her followers that she hadn’t “gotten with other guys since Atis”, adding, “And I never will.”
When the pair first split, Testa wrote that she’d been inundated with well wishes from her 308k followers on Instagram.
“Arghh! U guys are making me so emotional I wish I could hug every single one of you, everything is gonna be okay,” she said.
“I’m trying my best to respond to everyone. The answer is self love & self care.”
The influencer had initially been quick to shoot down rumours of their break-up, after fans on TikTok bombarded the comments of a video of her reviewing different McDonald’s foods and drinks in the popular tourist destination.
Questioned over where Paul was, Testa wrote that she was doing a separate trip with her friends.
Others fixated on whether the two were engaged, after spotting a large diamante ring on her finger.
“It’s a promise ring, Atis gave it to me three years ago when he asked me to be his gf,” she told her followers.
Fans were shocked when the couple finally confirmed they’d broken up, with one follower on TikTok stating they were “screaming, crying, throwing up”.
“Calling in sick for work because Mikaela Testa & Atis Paul broke up and you’re mourning as if it’s your own relationship,” they said in a video.
“I’m in so much shock Mikaela Testa n Atis Paul broke up,” another clip read.
