Jana Hocking reveals millennial way to dump your boyfriend

A millennial woman who didn’t know how to dump a man she was dating has revealed the “brilliant” way she managed to get the job done.

How to tell if your partner is cheating

Millennials are notorious for evading hard work.

So it should come as no surprise to hear the generation don’t even want to break up with someone they’re no longer interested in dating.

Jana Hocking, the host of news.com.au’s new relationship podcast, Kinda Sorta Dating, has detailed the unusual way she broke up with a former flame – labelling it peak “millennial” behaviour.

In a candid chat with ex Stu Laundy for this week’s episode, Jana detailed her dating life after their romance ended. She revealed she once dated a man with grown up kids, explaining she became particularly close to one of his grown daughters.

“I dated a guy after you, who had adult kids, and I got on really well with his daughter,” the 36-year-old said.

“She broke up with the guy I was currently dating at the time so I could go out with her dad.

“I was like, ‘I don’t know how to write the text’, and that’s how millennial I am, I did it by text.”

Stu, who is best known for dating Sophie Monk after winning her season of the Bachelorette, labelled the brutal move “brilliant”.

But sadly the new romance with the man 15-years her senior also failed to take off, with Jana revealing the dad was “hesitant to settle down”.

“He had his (kids) quite young but he got that out of the way, he was like, ‘I’ve done that, I’ve done the dad thing, I just want to settle into my life and live out my best years.’

“So he kept saying to me, ‘I know you want to have kids, I know you are gonna trap me, I’m just waiting’, because he had had a few girlfriends before me who had said ‘no I don’t want kids’ only to turn around one day and say, ‘right we have to have kids’.”

The dating experience is one of many Jana delves into in the 24-minute podcast episode, that includes Stu explaining honestly why their relationship didn’t work out.
