A woman who exposed her ex’s “gross” toilet habit has inadvertently outed a repulsive male habit too many are guilty of.

Hannah Thear, 25, confessed she once thought it was customary for men to urinate in water bottles to save them the inconvenience of having to get up to use the bathroom.

Her disturbing admission quickly left many retching, while others sheepishly shared they too had been convinced this was “normal” by a man.

“I thought it was acceptable for him to piss in bottles ’cause he didn’t wanna get out of bed, and they used to sit there for days unless I emptied them,” Ms Thear revealed in a TikTok clip.

Other women responded with their own tales of the men in their lives urinating in empty water bottles, branding it “lazy” and “feral”.

“Why did I get a flashback to my ex then,” asked one.

“There’s more men out there that do this?? My ex-partner did this,” groaned another.

As one wrote: “Just got a major flashback of daughters ‘dad’ doing this.”

However, some men have admitted to using the makeshift urinals.

“Any other [men] keep an empty bottle next to the bed to save them going to the bathroom in the middle of the night?” questioned one bloke in a separate TikTok.

“A piss bottle? I thought everyone did this. I’ve been doing it for 10+ years,” commented one man.

“I feel sorry for women they can’t do what we can,” joked another.

However, some men blame their urine habits on health conditions, with one girlfriend stating her boyfriend claimed he urinated in an empty water bottle by their bedside while she was next to him because of his insomnia.

“When he has to get out of bed for any reason, it makes it almost impossible for him to get any sleep at all after that,” she shared on Reddit.

“He has admitted he has been doing it for years because he can’t get himself out of bed when he is trying to sleep.

“This was super gross, and I couldn’t believe he thought it was acceptable.”

Despite his condition, many agreed that the hack is filthy — and a real solution needs to be found.

“If he can’t get up and go to the bathroom without going into existential crisis paralysis, he needs to see a doctor,” a user suggested.

“Healthy people don’t piss in bottles at home. Period. He has some issues, and you are not the one to ‘fix him’,” another said.

“Get up and piss in the toilet like a civilised person,” demanded another.

“My ex did this too but also next to his recliner where he played Call of Duty all night,” one person wrote. “It’s disgusting, and I will never deal with pee bottles again.”

Many medical articles online describe the use of “the male urine bottle” as necessary for many elderly or bedridden people. But outside of that, there’s no certified reason for the phenomenon, except “laziness”.
