Nothing subtle about Salim’s sister Kat as she throws OTT bridal shower

SALIM Mehajer’s sister Khadijeh has lived up to the family’s over-the-top reputation with four wardrobe changes at a lavish affair.

THERE’S nothing understated about Sydney’s controversial Mehajer family. And when it came to former Auburn deputy mayor Salim Mahajer’s sister’s bridal shower on Sunday, the family didn’t disappoint.

Mehajer’s sister, Khadijeh — known as Kat to her friends — has posted a series of images of the lavish affair to social media, living up to the over the top reputation with a number of wardrobe changes.

Kat Mehajer started the night in a sheer white number.

Kat opted for a show stopping floor length black and white gown for her final offering.

Video shows her husband to be, Ibraham ‘Abby’ Sakalaki, crashing the party and showing off his moves on the dance floor.

“When your man surprises you on your bridal shower!,” Kat wrote on the social media post, referring to Abby as her bear.

Interestingly, Salim’s wife, Aysha, didn’t appear to be at the soiree, adding to rumours the couple have split.

No expense appeared to be spared for the event, the venue decked out with soft pastel pink and white decorations as well as a candy bar of sweets including cupcakes and shakes.

Kat’s three outfits included a mint green Carla Zampatti dress while she also opted for a show stopping floor length black and white gown for her final offering. Her first dress was a sheer white number.

In March, Kat and her bridal party, which looks to include three of her five sisters, Sanna, Mary and Aiisha, and friends, held a dinner to talk wedding plans for an event her girlfriends have referred to as “Sydney’s next biggest wedding” on social media.

Salim sat on Auburn Council, which was suspended by the state government in February pending an inquiry into the conduct of the councillors.

He shot to prominence, along with partner Aysha, thanks to their lavish wedding last year. At the time, he was fined for shutting down his Lidcombe street for the wedding and later declared his ambition to one day become Prime Minister.
