THE ONE thing you don’t want to happen when you’re trying to be a good Samaritan is to make an absolute tit of yourself.

Well, one Sunshine Coast bloke might be feeling this way after this ordeal.

The concerned resident handed in a “bagged and tagged circular object” to officers at Maroochydore Station — which he believed was a prosthetic implant from a possible homicide.

“The man was concerned it was a prosthetic implant from someone who may have been murdered or drowned”, Sunshine Coast Police reports.

Officers investigated the item and provided the good citizen with a receipt.

But it turns out the prosthetic implant was in fact a jellyfish.

It’s an easy mistake to make and better safe than sorry. Good on the guy for trying!
