Bartender’s shock as boss calls her ‘vacuous poser’ when she resigned

A woman who gave her boss a heads up she was about to resign had the act repaid with a savage text that ripped her work ethic to shreds.

Surprising Careers That Don't Require A Degree

A British bartender was left shocked after being called a “vacuous poser” by her boss after she quit on his wedding day.

Kiara Claire, 18, had been working at the King’s Ransom pub in Greater Manchester since May.

Kiara informed her assistant manager last week that she had applied for a new role and would be doing a trial shift before they agreed to hire her.

But while her manager had initially been supportive of the move – he reacted furiously when she landed the role and messaged to say she was leaving, The Sun reports.

The response read: “Kiara. My love. It’s my wedding day. I don’t give a toss if you’re employed or not.

“And whilst we’re doing this, as you have had the level of disrespect to message me, with this meaningful nonsense. ON MY WEDDING DAY. I would like to give you some home truths.

“You have no initiative. You are a vacuous poser. You are too focused on how you look and not what you do.

“You are a useless employee.”

It added: “You would rather text than do your job. You should be embarrassed about this.

“But hear my words. Because they will do you a favour.

“Nobody is interested in YOU. Your work ethics are the only thing matter. Focus on the job and stop focusing on yourself.

“Beauty will fade. Dumb b**** is forever.”

Kiara says she initially assumed the response was a joke – but her friends and family became concerned when she spoke about it.

‘Shocking and upsetting’

“I was on FaceTime with my friends and I read it out and they were all getting quite mad about it,” she told the Manchester Evening News.

“It was only until the next morning when I re-read it that I started to get upset about it because the way it had been set out looked like he was being quite serious about it.

“I suffer from anxiety and it was quite shocking and upsetting to read. It did make me feel worse, it knocked my confidence.”

Kiara said she tried to call her boss for an explanation, but he denied sending the text – claiming it was a friend.

The King’s Ransom pub has since said it is investigating the incident.

The pub’s general manager wrote on Facebook: “I am aware of a message circulating on social media between a member of staff and my assistant manager.

“As the general manager of The Kings Ransom, I would like to assure you we take matters like this very serious and the matter is currently being investigated as a matter of urgency.

“I would like to apologise on behalf of The Kings Ransom for any distress caused.

“As a matter of due process, we will not be commenting any further on this matter.”
