Reality star claims Bali salon ‘murdered’ her hair
A former Love Island Australia contestant has broken down in tears after claiming she had a “horror” hair experience in a Bali salon.
A reality TV star has shared a teary-eyed warning after claiming a Bali salon “murdered” her hair.
Love Island Australia contestant Ruby Ennor took to TikTok to share her alleged horror hair experience that saw her long blonde locks become severely damaged and cut short.
She is currently in Bali and decided to get her hair done at what she says is a well-known and reputable hair salon that has two locations on the Indonesian island.
The 25-year-old from the Gold Coast claimed to have gone to Jet Black Ginger salon in Canggu, Bali, which boasts 20,000 Instagram followers and impressive transformation photos.
Ruby – who was on season three of Love Island Australia – was devastated after she claims the salon “fried” her hair with bleach, which forced her to cut her hair “super short”.
“I am so sad,” she began the TikTok video.
“Yesterday I made a TikTok about when blondes go to the hairdressers, and they come out with a colour that they didn’t like.
“That happened to me, so I went back to the salon today and they said they would fix it. So we put some foils up the top, and then did a toner.
“They’re drying my hair and as they dry one side of my hair, I go to touch it, and … [the] ends of my hair is cooked.
“Yesterday I cut that much off my hair, I’m sitting there in the chair and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, what have you done to my ends.’
“And she’s like, ‘Oh, we’ll cut it that much.’ I told her I already cut that much off yesterday, I don’t want to have to cut more off.
“It should have been healthy, because I cut so much off yesterday. She gets the guy to come over, and he says it’s because we bleached it.
“I said, we didn’t bleach the ends of my hair, we bleached up here at the top of my head. I’m sitting here crying.
“It was the first time I’d ever cried in the hairdresser’s chair. He’s like, we will cut that much off. I’m wanting long hair, and my hair is just broken now.
“I’m hysterical, and crying. The manager comes back with a little lip balm size of treatment, and says we want to offer you this on the house.
“I asked for a refund, because I was going to have to go somewhere else to help fix my hair. They agreed, but it’s not even about the money.
“It’s the fact that they have murdered my hair.”
Visibly upset in the video, she showed off the ends of her hair.
In a follow-up clip, she responded to comments from people who asked her why she had her hair done in Bali rather than at home.
“A lot of you are coming at me in the comments asking why I got my hair done in Bali,” she said.
“This salon was legit, their Instagram has 20,000 followers, their posts of hair transformations look good. I don’t know why mine turned to sh*t.
“Also, a lot of you are asking why I’d get foils straight away the next day. It’s because when I went to them with my issue, they said come back in and we will correct it.
“I’m not a hairdresser, I don’t know [what] I’m meant to do. They just said come back in and we’ll lighten it for you.
“They never said it’ll fry your hair. If they had said, just so you know your hair will get damaged a lot and you’re going to have to chop more off, I would have said OK, don’t need it, I’ll stick to what I’ve got.
“They never said your hair will sizzle. They did not say it is not good for your hair.”
Her followers offered Ruby advice on products to help her hair return to health.
“I don’t even want to look at [my hair] at the moment, it’s not it,” she said.
“I’m going to get over it, I will. But right now I’m not ready to get over it.
“The joys of being blonde.”
