A PARAPLEGIC French girl was severely bloodied after rats swarmed her bedroom and devoured parts of her body while she slept.
IT IS the stuff nightmares are made of.
A paraplegic French girl was attacked by a pack of rats who left her bloodied and devoured parts of her body while she slept, according to the New York Post.
The 14-year-old girl âwas sleeping on a medical bed in her âfamily’s âhome in Roubaix when âthe rodent attack occurred, BBC reported.
The âdisabled womanâ, identified as “Samantha” by local media, â suffered hundreds of injuries, including 45 facial wounds âand nearly 200 wounds on her hands and feet, a medical expert told France Info.
âHer father, identified as “Jerome,” âtold local media he was sleeping one floor above his daughter, but found her “bathed in a pool of blood” in the morning.
“Because of her condition, she is less sensitive to pain than we are,” the man told the Courrier-Picard. “âShe must have felt the rats on her but she did not have the presence of mind to call usâ.”
He added: “According to doctors, this is a fairly rare phenomenon. Rats attack almost nothing but dead people.”
ââThe girl was vaccinated âafter the attack and a rabies test came back negativeâ, according to local reports. â
Since the âincident, the family has moved to a different homeâ, but the girl’s father vowed to sue the landlord for negligence, The Mirror reported. â
âThe police âare investigating the incident.
