Young girl pulled alive after being buried in rubble

RESCUERS heard her cries, but could not see her. The little girl had been completely buried alive underneath a pile of rubble.

IT HAS become so common place to see horrific and often heartbreaking atrocities faced by children across the world.

It’s no secret that in a world so connected to every part of daily life through social media that people suffer from horror fatigue. Many switch off and embrace ignorance, which is not to be derided as sometimes it’s the only thing people can do.

People feel helpless and that is especially the case when it comes to seeing children suffering at the hands of war and injustice like this little girl in Syria.

The little girl was buried alive in the rubble when the opposition-held Damascus suburb of Tishreen was hit on February 19.

Reports said at least seven people were killed when warplanes bombed the connected, rebel-held districts of Barzeh, Qaboun, and Tishreen.

The video, which is from the Syrian Civil Defence, is a graphic look at the realities that children in war-torn countries face.
