Woman’s incredible op shop find in $10 designer handbag
A woman was cleaning a handbag she had just bought at a charity shop when she made a surprising find hidden inside.
A US woman looking for a discount got a lot more than she bargained for after buying a Coach bag at an op shop.
TikTok user Lynora bought the handbag for $US7 ($A10.40) and was cleaning some stains on the inside of it.
But as she lifted up the bottom flap of the bag, she was shocked to find an envelope filled with cash.
Alongside the money, there was a letter, which Lenora read for her TikTok audience.
“I have three children. They will give my things to goodwill [charity] when I die so I am leaving their inheritance in all my favourite things,” Lynora read in her TikTok video.
“This Coach bag was given to me by my husband’s girlfriend – well, actually, I came home early from a visit to my parents’ house in Connecticut.
“She must have left quickly as she forgot her bag and shoes.”
The woman who left the note, Martha, said she carried the bag every day and wondered if her husband ever knew of its origin.
“I am giving it away because my kids don’t want it,” the letter continued.
“So, go buy yourself a new bag. Love, Martha.”
The envelope with the note included $US300 ($A445) in cash.
Social media users have invested 100 per cent into the story of Martha and her impressive level of pettiness.
“One thing about Martha, she gonna hold a grudge. Even until death lol,” one person wrote.
Another said: “Me prepared to examine every purse in the thrift store.”
A third said: “Martha is my kinda petty. Rest in peace Martha.”
Even Coach jumped on board, calling Martha an icon. Many couldn’t decide what was better – the story, the hidden note or that Lynora found this all for just $10.40.
The video has now been viewed more than 8.5 million times.
