Woman reveals list of ‘non-negotiables’ for having a baby
A young woman has revealed her wild list of “non-negotiables” for having a child – including a $480,000 yearly salary per baby.
A young woman has revealed her “non-negotiables” for having a baby, noting that “creating a human life takes a lot of sacrifice” and she is not willing to put herself through it “for free”.
The UK-based content creator, who goes by the LifeofJenny online, shared a list of assurances she would need in order to even consider trying for a baby.
In the video, she notes she has always been “very adamant” about wanting to be child-free, but for the right man, and under the right circumstances, she would consider changing her mind.
Jenny noted that her list would likely “ruffle a few feathers”, with the first being having a prenup and being married before the pregnancy.
She said the prenup would include clauses that would cover things like cheating.
The next is an annual allowance of $A480,500 (£250,000) per child.
“This will basically cover my weekly therapy sessions I am going to need before and post giving birth, personal trainer to get me all fit and healthy and get my confidence back,” she explained.
“Obviously grocery shopping and just things I would need to get for the kids here and there.
“If I just have an annual or monthly allowance equivalent to that then I would be able to live comfortably, not just for myself but for my child as well.”
Jenny believes she would be “sacrificing a lot” to bring children into the world, so she doesn’t think she is asking for too much.
The Londoner also noted she would not be working while raising the children and would need a housekeeper for a minimum of six months after the birth, after which she would need a weekly cleaner.
“I am not here to suffer,” she noted.
“I would also have a mummy makeover because my body is going to be destroyed internally and externally.”
A “mummy makeover” is the term giving to the cosmetic procedures that are popular among women who have had children.
It often includes procedures such as a tummy tuck, breast augmentation, breast lift, liposuction and vaginal rejuvenation surgery.
Jenny also noted she loves her beauty sleep, so hiring a night nurse would be “mandatory” and would put her in a “better mindframe” for taking over caring for the child in the morning.
“Next is a push present. So either an apartment in my name, a car or a business,” she said.
She explained she would need a present that would secure her and her kids' futures “should anything happen”.
“I am always looking to add more onto this list because I am very adamant I want to be child-free,” Jenny said.
“But for the right man, I wouldn’t mind putting myself through all of that for all of the above.”
The video has been viewed more than 613,000 times and has racked up more than 3,700 comments, with the majority of people in support of Jenny’s “non-negotiable” list.
One commenter claimed the list seemed “fairly reasonable” if the $480,000 salary would go towards paying for a doula and night nurse as well.
“If my future husband wants me to have a baby I will need a nutritionist, and therapy sessions both for him and I and night nurse, a cook and a cleaner,” another woman said.
Others lashed out at the people who didn’t agree with the list, with one woman branding people “dumb” for being angry at her requests.
“It’s her preference. This is what would change her mind about having kids. She doesn’t want kids,” the commenter pointed out.
“People calling her crazy in these comments clearly do not know everything that a pregnancy and delivery entails. Not even including everything after,” another said.
One added: “Men so angry that women started seeing how much they deserve for pregnancy and birth.”
However, there were those that thought her demands were extreme, with some questioning whether it was a joke, while others warned her she would “stay single for ever”.
“This is absolutely crazy. I’m currently pregnant and my husband is doing his best to make me comfortable. This woman just wants a rich man that's it,” one person said.
“Children should be made from love, I don’t understand why you are treating it like a transaction? I assume you don’t want kids and this your ‘price’,” another wrote.
“This is so sad,” one added.
