A woman whose husband is behind bars has revealed what her life is like as a prison wife.
Amy Jade has been raising her son alone since her partner was put behind bars more than two years ago – and she says being a prison wife is a full-time job.
She regularly shares updates about their relationship on her TikTok account and recently shared her daily routine with her followers, The Sun reports.
Amy begins her day by making breakfast for herself and her son before sending £35 ($A60) to her partner to pay for his canteen food that week.
With her birthday around the corner the couple were able to arrange a video call for the day before her celebrations.
Meanwhile, with her partner absent, it was left to Amy to arrange birthday celebrations for his mum, buying her presents and taking her out for dinner.
She spent the remainder of the day writing the letters and emails to her partner, attaching pictures of their son to keep him updated on her life.
The video has since received almost three million views.
While the pair have plenty of support from Amy’s TikTok followers, there are just as many people who have slammed their relationship.
Commenting on the clip, one wrote: “Why do we glamorise these kinds of relationships?”
“Why are you flexing?” said another, while a third wrote: “I couldn’t be with someone who committed a crime.”
Amy fell pregnant with their son just six months after the pair met. Shortly afterwards, he was sent to prison, leaving her to raise the baby alone.
Amy describes his arrest “like no other pain I’ve ever known” and is now counting down the days until his release.
The pair have a holiday planned in six months’ time to celebrate his freedom.
