Woman banned from friends’ Xmas dinner for being ’too hot’

The influencer says her friends think she is “too beautiful” and will “tempt” their husbands and boyfriends.

Influencer Marina Smith will be celebrating Christmas alone this year due to concerns from her friends that she’s “too attractive.”

They believe her stunning looks might be “distracting” for their partners.

“I’ve been banned from Christmas dinner because the women think I’ll steal their men,” Ms Smith, 34, from Sao Paulo, Brazil, explained to Jam Press.

“They’re worried that I might tempt their husbands and boyfriends.”

“Yes, I’m a beautiful woman,” she admitted. “But that is not a reason for anyone to leave me out.”

This situation highlights the concept of “pretty privilege,” where attractive people receive certain advantages because of their looks.

However, for Ms Smith, being exceptionally attractive and single has its downsides.

The former Miss Bumbum winner claims her friends excluded her from their annual celebration simply because she doesn’t have a plus one.

“The boyfriend of one of my friends told me that a WhatsApp group had been created and I wasn’t in it,” she said.

“He explained that my friends were discussing their concerns about my presence at the dinner. They even considered not inviting me because they thought my beauty and single status would attract unwanted attention from their husbands and boyfriends.”

Ms Smith shared that she is used to spending Christmas alone after she broke up with her last boyfriend because he “split the bill too much.”

She recalled, “He even charged me for a cafe bill we shared. He liked to split everything, so it only lasted eight months.”

Spending this Christmas alone, however, feels different.

“Being single already limits my outings and trips with friends because they go out with their partners now,” she remarked.

“But now, being single and beautiful has become an insecurity for them!”

Despite the situation, she is grateful to know in advance that she won’t be included.

“I think I would feel out of place, so I’m glad to know this now rather than the day before Christmas.”

Ms Smith insists that her desire to dress up is solely for her own enjoyment, not to attract other people’s partners.

“I dress to feel good,” she stated. “The problem isn’t with me; it’s with the men who think I am ‘too beautiful to be real.’”

Even if her friends decide to invite her later, she said she would still decline and confront them about their lack of confidence in her.

“I used to trust my friends blindly, but apparently, they didn’t trust me. It’s a shame because they’re going to lose the best friend they could have had,” she noted.

“And no, I never made advances toward their partners. I’m a respectful woman, especially concerning their relationships.

“I think it was jealousy on their part. At this point, I’d rather spend Christmas alone at home.”
