Widow claims to have spotted ‘dead’ husband on Indian restaurant’s Facebook page
A widow is dumbfounded after claiming she spotting her “dead” husband on a local Indian restaurant’s Facebook page.
A woman who says her husband died nine years ago claims to have made a shock discovery in a restaurant‘s Facebook photo.
The Spice Cottage in West Sussex was trying to promote itself by sharing fresh footage on social media of smiling customers enjoying its Indian cuisine, The Sun reported.
But things took an odd turn when one woman commented and claimed she had spotted her dead husband and his son in the clip.
She asked how long ago the video was filmed as she said her beloved partner died nine years ago.
That was when the Chichester curry house chillingly told her the clip had been snapped only the week prior.
The restaurant had posted the promo footage on Facebook last week and captioned it: “New year, new mood!”
The post reads: “For the last few weeks, we’ve been working hard to make our dining experience even more memorable.
“Join us for a perfect blend of exquisite flavours, with classical and unique dishes inspired by ancient family recipes.”
That was when a woman who claimed she was a widow commented: “How old is the footage?
“My late husband and his son are on the first shot and he died in 2014??”
The restaurant was quick to reply and said: “Hi Lucy, sorry to hear this. This footage was recorded last week.”
Facebook users then flooded the post with more than 100 comments – swapping theories.
One woman wrote: “We need an update! Was his body ever found, or just a canoe?”
She was referencing to the story of John Darwin who faked his death for a life insurance scam in an apparent canoeing accident in 2002.
Another wrote: “He wasn’t dead. He was just in a korma.“
To which another commented: “Curry so good this lady’s late husband came back to life for it.”
One person said: “All you naan believers think this lady is lying.”
While another wrote: “Maybe he was vindaloo all this time…?”
One person also pointed out the spooky coincidence that the footage was filmed on Friday the 13th.
Despite people begging for an update on the situation, the woman who originally said she‘d spotted her late husband is yet to respond to the comments.
