The extreme lengths Uber drivers are going for a five-star rating
FREE Wi-Fi, disco balls, Netflix and massage chairs: Uber drivers are angling for a five-star rating in weird and wonderful ways.
THERE’S no mistaking that Uber’s stronghold in Australia is increasing.
It’s hardly surprised considering the extreme lengths Uber drivers are going to get that all important five-star rating.
Uber drivers will try anything to give their riders the ultimate Uber experience, offering a stick of gum, or a breath-mint, a bottle of water, and even the occasional cold piece of pizza. No joke.
But Uber drivers are stepping away from the generic conversation starters and ice breakers and have begun creating personally developed amenities.
According to Uber’s communications lead, Caspar Nixon, all this effort is aimed at “giving riders a delightful, entertaining, and sometimes, first-class experience.”
Some of the comments Aussie drivers have received include: “Best Uber yet! Well decked out car with all you’d need for a good evening out. Water, aux cable for music, Wi-Fi, YouTube, Foxtel, charging cable, pillow and a lovely and entertaining driver. Highly recommended”, and “Excellent service went out of his way to make a great ride offering water and had a movie playing — A+++++”.
