Teacher convicted of sex with 15-year-old boy was ‘incredibly frisky’, says ex

The ex-boyfriend of teacher convicted of sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy says she demanded sex six times a day during their two-year romance.

The disgraced teacher convicted of sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy has been described as someone who had an “excessive” sex drive, her ex boyfriend has claimed.

Kandice Barber was convicted of one count of causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity in a field at Amersham Law Courts, on Thursday.

She was cleared of two other counts of the same charge.

The 35-year-old had sex with the student after kissing him on the neck and whispering: “What do you want to do now?”

Barber then “threatened” to bring the boy down if he reported her and falsely accuse him of rape.

An ex-boyfriend of the married mum-of-three has now revealed their relationship ended over her “huge sex drive”, claiming Barber demanded sex up to six times a day.

“She liked doing it outside, sometimes in the car, the garden or in woods,” the man told MailOnline. “We’d be driving somewhere, and she’d say, ‘pull over, I’m feeling horny’. It just got too much for me.”

He said “that sort of stuff got excited” but he found it “too excessive”.

Barber was also convicted last year of sexual communication with a child and causing a child to watch a sexual act by a person in a position of trust after sending the student an explicit video.

Speaking of the offence, the unidentified ex said “that sounds like Kandice”.

“That was the sort of stuff she was into and it didn’t surprise me at all but what shocked me was that she did it with a kid. I can’t believe how stupid she’s been,” he said.

He added that Barber was a “wonderful girl and great mother who never got so much as a parking ticket” during their two-year relationship after meeting on a dating website.

“But when it came to sex, she was just incredibly frisky and that’s what got her into all this trouble,” he said.

Barber’s husband Daniel yelled, “It’s a joke,” when her guilty verdict was read out in court, The Sun reported Friday.

He defended his wife in court – telling jurors their marriage is as “strong” as ever.

Mr Barber, who previously referred to his wife as his “rock”, said he was unaffected by his wife’s conviction for sending X-rated pictures.

The delivery driver added: “Our relationship is how it is today, it has never changed. We have always been good and we have always been strong.

“When my wife is on the phone, I am not one of those people who constantly looks at her to see who she is on the phone to. I have full faith in her.”

Jurors heard the teacher began messaging the pupil in 2018 after taking his phone number at a school sports day prize-giving event.

Their texts soon turned “sexual” and Barber later picked him up in her car before driving to a field.

Barber then had sex with the boy in the secluded area.

The teacher continued to send the boy sexual texts – even while teaching him in class.

One message read: “You cannot make me blush when I am teaching now, poker face.”

A schoolboy also claimed he saw messages from Barber, asking: “Do you prefer boobs or bum?”

The boy also showed a friend a shower selfie showing Barber’s face and a picture of the supply teacher bending over a bed.

And he told one classmate, “I shagged her,” when describing their outdoor sexual encounter.

Rumours soon began to swirl around the school with Barber telling the boy she would “bring him down with her” if the relationship was discovered.

She also encouraged him to delete messages she had sent although the pupil kept photographs of some of the more explicit texts.

Barber was eventually arrested in March last year – four months after the headmaster saw an X-rated picture of her sweeping through the school.

She has been warned “custody is inevitable” as she was released on bail ahead of sentencing which is set for February 15.

The starting point for sentencing is five years in jail.
