A glamorous mum and daughter who are constantly mistaken for being sisters have opened up about being “best friends” and sharing each other’s wardrobe.

Sasha Morpeth said while she and her mum Therese have always been close, their bond has only strengthened as the two have gotten older.

With their shiny blonde locks, glowing tan skin and fashionable wardrobes, it is no wonder the pair say they are often mistaken for being sisters, rather than mum and daughter.

Sasha, 23, says her 60-year-old mum Therese is her “fashion icon” and the two best friends are always in each other’s wardrobe swapping outfits, or shopping together for new clothes.

The Gold Coast mum and daughter duo have racked up legions of devoted followers on TikTok, with Sasha now hitting nearly 4 million subscribers.

“Ever since I can remember, mum and I have always been super close” Sasha told news.com.au.

“I have always felt like I can tell her anything, and we have always gotten along like no other. We just have fun and make each other laugh 24/7.

“Now that I’m older, we are even closer, which I didn’t think was possible.

“She is genuinely my best friend, and I love being around her incredible energy and spending quality time together.”

The stunning pair showcase their adventures on TikTok, and are often seen showing off their matching outfits and new designer clothes.

The popular clips always garner thousands of comments from their followers who adore the pair’s fashion sense and close bond.

Sasha says she gets a lot of her style inspiration from her mum, who she has watched put together smart outfits over the years.

“Mum has always had her own unique style sense and has always embraced what she personally loves,” Sasha said.

“I have always looked up to mum and gotten inspiration from her. We definitely have a similar fashion sense these days which I can attribute mostly to her.

“We love to go shopping together and you will always see us wearing each other’s clothes.

“Her style is definitely more mature but of course we find pieces from each other’s wardrobes to pull an outfit together suited to our styles.

“However, I definitely catch her in my closet more than I’m in hers!

“She has always been very stylish but she has definitely embraced fashion more over the past few years.

“I would say as I have gotten older we enjoy styling each other and sharing our wardrobes to create the best looks. It’s something we love to share.”

Therese, who has been married to her husband for 34 years and also has two older sons, is often mistaken for being far younger than what she really is.

At 60, many mistake her for being 40 – and she attributes that to her healthy lifestyle, a solid skincare routine, and a positive mindset.

“I love to workout, playing tennis and doing zumba classes with my friends” Therese said.

“Exercise is a huge part of staying fit and healthy.

“I have a regular skincare routine, which involves lots of moisturiser and SPF 50+ sunscreen. I also really love using products with vitamin C, along with serums and eye cream.

“Water is huge for me, I always have my water bottle in hand to ensure I’m hydrated.”

Beyond the external factors that can contribute to ageing, Therese also believes “true beauty comes from within” and says having a kind heart and positive mindset is key.

“If you are kind and good on the inside, this radiates to the outside too,” she added.

“Confidence is key. You need to believe in yourself, you are your own person and should embrace every part of it. Your uniqueness and differences are what make you special.

“The most important thing in my opinion is a positive mindset, and kind heart. These create true beauty.”

Sasha says she loves how close she and her mother are, and it feels more like they are sisters and best friends instead of the usual “parent and child” relationship.

The young woman added that she hopes to be just like her mum when she gets to 60.

“I have learnt so much from my mum, she has the most beautiful and positive outlook on life” she said.

“I genuinely strive to be as wonderful as her one day. She is so wise, caring, passionate, optimistic, loving, empathetic and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body.

“She shows me the light at the end of every tunnel and I can’t imagine my life without her.”
