Splendour 2022: Inside Smirnoff Seltzer Springs VIP marquee

The acts on the main stage have been cancelled due to horror rain, but there's one spot at the festival that’s a “dry refuge”.

Acts have been cancelled and it’s pouring with rain – but that hasn’t stopped some guests from enjoying Splendour in the Grass 2022.

A secret oasis hidden away from the miserable weather is proving popular among the VIPs – including new celebrity couple Simone Holtznagel and personal trainer Jono Castano.

The pair only went public with their romance recently, but are currently taking refuge from the wild storm battering Byron Bay inside the exclusive Smirnoff Seltzer Springs marquee.

The pair snapped a loved up selfie enjoying a drink at the fully covered two-storey bar, showing not even the miserable weather can dampen their spirits.

Bachelor star Konrad Bien – who is dating Abbie Chatfield – was also spotted keeping dry at the event.

Inside, everything has been themed to “evoke relaxing Palm Springs poolside vibes”, which considering water is overtaking the festival outside sounds highly needed.

There’s also make-up stations where attendees can dust of the mud and replace it with environmentally-friendly glitter – with artists offering three looks inspired by the Smirnoff Seltzer’s flavours available at the bar; Lime, Peach Iced Tea and Passionfruit.

Music is also being played from 12pm to 2am across the entire three-day event.

While it’s already a hit among influencers and VIP guests of the popular spirit brand, anyone bold enough to brave the weather can slip inside to escape the chaos engulfing the rest of the festival.

One attendee told news.com.au the spot was “lucky” as it had escaped the flood water due to its proximity to the road. Another said it was a “nice and dry refuge”.

There is currently a growing queue of festival goers keen to get into the event.

Splendour in the Grass organisers were forced to cancelled all major acts on the music festival’s opening night after horrendous wet weather flooded the site.

The Smirnoff Seltzer Springs tent is currently scheduled to remain open the entire weekend, but Splendour officials are advising to check the website for updates.
