Smallville star Allison Mack says sex slave branding was her idea
SMALLVILLE star Allison Mack has reportedly admitted it was her idea to burn the initials of accused NXIVM cult leader into the flesh of “sex slaves”.
ACTOR Allison Mack has reportedly admitted that branding NXIVM “sex slaves” with “leader” Keith Raniere’s initials was her idea.
The former Smallville star, 35, is accused of recruiting women to the secretive cult to have sex with Raniere, 57.
Her co-defendant, Raniere, who remains in custody, is expected to be arraigned on charges that he kept women as sex slaves and branded them with his initials.
Mack, who played Clark Kent’s pal Chloe Sullivan in the spin-off Superman TV series which aired from 2001-2011, was released on bail last month but remains under home detention, The Sun reports.
Speaking before her arrest for alleged sex trafficking offences, she told The New York Times: “Y’all, a tattoo? People get drunk and tattooed on their ankle ‘BFF,’ or a tramp stamp. I have two tattoos and they mean nothing.”
Mack is believed to have been referring to the flesh-burning brands given to female “slaves” after they joined, with some allegedly given the initials of both Mack and the accused cult boss Raniere.

New York Times reporter Vanessa Grigoriadis claims Mack told her that women saw it as a way to conquer their fears.
“Some of them kidded around through it,” Grigoriadis wrote.
“Even if they cried when they were getting the brand; even if they wore surgical masks to help them with breathing in the smell of burning flesh … they were still able to transcend the fear and cry out to one another: ‘Badass warrior b**ches! Let’s get strong together.’”
The two are due to stand trial in October on conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.
If convicted they face a minimum of 15 years in prison.
Earlier this month, Mack appeared in court where she refused to look Raniere in the eye.
A federal judge agreed to release Mack on a $US5 million ($A6.6 million) bond and place her under home detention at her parents’ house in California while she awaits trial.
Her bail conditions include no contact with current or former members of the NXIVM group, she’ll be electronically monitored and have restricted use of her phone and computer.
