A babysitter who is accused of fatally stabbing a three-year-old wrote a chilling six-word message in blood on the wall afterwards.

A babysitter accused of fatally stabbing a three-year-old wrote a chilling six-word message in blood on the wall after the attack, according to police.

41-year-old Marketta Phillips was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Wednesday for the death of toddler Journei Ross, who died from 10 stab wounds in the torso, legs and neck.

Journei’s father, Jeremy Ross, left his daughter in the woman’s care at 6pm and returned home from work at around 3:30am to find Phillips, who was his roommate and on-again-off-again girlfriend, on the kitchen floor “surrounded by multiple knives” and covered in blood, 8 News Now reported.

“She was just out of it or something,” he reported.

When he went to check on his daughter, he found her unresponsive in her bedroom and began chest compressions.

On the wall, Phillips reportedly wrote a harrowing six-word phrase in blood: “Everybody who played me is cursed”.

Police allegedly discovered notes in the apartment, including one that said, “Now we both have nothing” and another that said, “See what happens when you f*** with people’s lives”.

Phillips told police she had “snapped” and admitted she stabbed the child “more than once” in order to “get back at” Mr Ross, the publication reported.

In a 911 call obtained by CBS, Mr Ross can be heard saying, “You murdered my baby!” and “My baby is not breathing. My baby just bled all over the goddamn bed. What the f*** did you do?”

He told the dispatcher: “My baby isn’t breathing anymore. A crazy girl cut my baby up”.

Phillips made her first court appearance on Thursday and Mr Ross and Journie’s mother, Phalan Whitson, sat through the hearing as Phillips acknowledged the murder charge she is facing.

Mr Ross stated that he and Phillips had lived together for about a year, but he never thought there was a problem with her.

“I didn’t know she was a crazy case,” he said.

Ms Whitson said, “(Journei) could light up a room wherever she was at.

“I deserve justice.”
