Shopper is mistakenly sent a sex toy ... and Amazon jokes about it
A SHOPPER who received a sex toy instead of a belly button bar was left furious when Amazon treated her complaint as a joke.
A SHOPPER who received a sex toy instead of a belly button bar was left furious when Amazon treated her complaint as a joke — telling her they’d “get to the bottom” of it.
Noeleen Green, 28, paid $5.95 for the navel jewellery and waited more than a month for it to arrive.
But when she tore open the packet she found a sex weapon.
The mum-of-two complained on Facebook — but was horrified when Amazon’s social media team appeared to joke about the mistake.
A rep posted: “I can only imagine how bummed you are, Noeleen. We’re here to help and want to get to the bottom of this.
“Did you order the belly bar from a seller on our site? If so, we’ll happily stand behind you if they’re unable to help.”
The reply racked up over 7000 likes but Ms Green is furious that the company did not take the issue seriously.
She said: “I am still coming to terms with the horror that has been caused to myself following the backlash of stick that I received on social media.
“I have lost faith in Amazon and their products, and won’t be shopping with them again.”
Ms Green, of Birmingham, UK added: “When I opened it my heart sank. Instead of an innocent belly bar, I was left with an unwanted sex toy, which needless to say did not fit the description of the item I had originally ordered.”
The mother-of-two then took to Facebook and wrote: “I have young children in my house whom are now questioning the item and asking when we can set the game up and play.
“I am aware buying online can sometimes be confusing and details of items can get a little misconceived, however, I would like you to inform me how you can mistake my order for a sex toy.”
An Amazon spokesman said they are currently investigating Ms Green’s complaint and apologised for any offence that their reply may have caused.
