Sex attacker with a ‘distinctive walk’ caught on camera fleeing teen victim’s bedroom.

AN alleged sex attacker who broke into a teen girl’s bedroom and assaulted her has a “distinctive walk” as revealed by CCTV cameras that captured him fleeing the crime scene.
The 16-year-old victim was subjected to a terrifying sex attack by a balaclava wearing man who broke into her home in Melbourne’s north on Friday morning.
Police have since released CCTV footage of a man they are hunting in relation to the home invasion and sexual assault in Roxburgh Park.
Police said they hope the footage will prompt someone to recognise the man by his “distinctive walk”.
Detectives said they received reports the offender broke into the house just after 7am through a kitchen window.
Police believe the man, who was wearing a balaclava, jumped the fence from an adjoining property and shrugged off his jacket before breaking into the home.
He then walked through the house, went into the sleeping 16-year-old’s bedroom, and knelt beside her bed before waking her up.
The man got into the teen’s bed and sexually assaulted her while the rest of her family were asleep inside the home.
After the attack, the intruder forced the girl into the bathroom while he escaped though the bedroom window.
CCTV footage from a neighbouring property shows him then jumping from a fence, retrieving his jacket, and running from the area.
The apparent random nature of the attack has police deeply concerned because they don’t know if the intruder had followed and stalked his victim prior to the attack.
“Our number one goal is to catch up with this guy as soon as we can,” Detective Senior Sergeant Jason Walsh told reporters on Saturday.
“We urge anyone who knows this guy to call Crime Stoppers.”
Sen Sgt Walsh said the CCTV images of the man were quite clear.
“The grabs that you’ll see are reasonably clear ... quite a distinctive walk, I think it’s fair to say, that he’s got,” he said.
Police have also released a computer-generated image of the intruder.
He is described as in his early-to-mid 20s, caucasian, about 177cm tall with a thin and muscular build, clean shaven, and spoke with an Australian accent.
He was wearing a pink T-shirt, dark jeans and a dark jacket at the time of the break-in.
