Former UK reality star Ferne McCann has been praised for sharing a series of “real” post-partum photos, a month after the birth of her daughter.

The 32-year-old – who gave birth to her second child, daughter Finty, four weeks ago – wrote that she was “getting comfortable with being uncomfortable” with her changed body.

“My experience this time round is completely different after giving birth to [first daughter] Sunday. My body seems to be taking longer to go back to normal (whatever that is supposed to look like!) and in the last couple of days I’ve noticed an impatience with myself,” McCann, who was a cast member on The Only Way Is Essex, said.

“You can either pick yourself apart or shower yourself with kindness & love. From today, I’m picking the latter! My body created & carried my baby girls so how can I insult it? But in my low moments that’s exactly what I’ve done and I’m sure many women can relate to this.

“So … I’m getting comfortable with the uncomfortable, owning it all! This is where I’m at, this is how I look and it’s up to me to start making some healthy changes to my life to start feeling strong physically and mentally and comfortable in my own skin.”

McCann added her “mission” now is “to get back on track, eat nourishing foods, go for my walks, do some kind of exercise 3 times a week”.

Dozens of McCann’s followers took to the comments to offer their support, writing that it’s “time we celebrated real bodies”.

“Our bodies are incredible, be kind to yourself. You’ve grown two humans … Doing what we can, when we can is all [we can do]. You’re inspiring darling. Good luck,” one wrote.

While another said: “Well I think you look beautiful. Proud of you!!”

“I’m exactly here. Thank you for sharing,” a third commented.
