Preacher hit with baseball bat after telling school students women ‘deserved to be raped’
A VIDEO shows the moment a conservative preacher got more than he bargained for when he unleashed a vile tirade against members of the LGBT community.
BROTHER DEAN SAXTON is filled with the kind of mind-boggling bigotry that will turn your stomach (and will also make you realise why Donald Trump has made it so far in politics).
Saxton likes to spend his time out the front of Apollo High School in Arizona, US, verbally abusing the students and members of the LGBT community through his megaphone.
On this particular day (that you can witness in the video above) he decided to record his protest on his phone — presumably so he can go home and share his day’s activity with his folks, and make them real proud of who he’s become.
This isn’t the first time Saxton has made a nuisance of himself. He regularly protests out the front of high schools, colleges and busy public events.
Highlights (lowlights?) of his speech include moments where he shouts at the students across the street and tells them to “change your evil ways” and stop “worshipping satan”.
“You’re bad. You’re wicked. You’re evil. The Bible says it’s not okay to be gay”.
He also holds up a sign that says that women who aren’t true Christians “deserve to be raped”.
At one point students shout at him to go home and he responds “I haven’t even started yet”.
A teacher approaches him and warns him that students might attack.
“I’m trying to influence the fact that you need to be gone” a teacher says.
“I think you’re a disgrace to Christianity. Why don’t you go and preach it to somebody who really wants to hear your message, like Westboro Baptist Church?”
Another adult approaches and says he doesn’t think Saxton is “playing with a full deck.”
“These kids don’t need to see that”.
The same adult is filmed reacting with shock when someone from behind hits Saxton over the head with a baseball bat. You can hear people celebrating after the bat impacts with his head.
Afterwards. Saxton films the blood on his face.
Though you never actually see her in the video, 19-year-old Tabitha Brubaker has been charged with felony assault and marijuana possession by police, reports ABC15 News.
A debate is now raging over the line between “freedom of speech” and “hate speech”.
Violence is never the answer, but maybe, just maybe Saxton will think twice before opening his mouth and spewing hate around teens with access to sporting goods again.
(But probably not ... he’ll probably use this as proof that they are filled with the spirit of Satan).
On that note, let’s finish with another of Saxton’s tasteful signs, and one woman’s eloquent response.
