Perth woman ends up in hospital after one-night stand goes wrong
An Australian woman has detailed the painful moment her one-night stand went horribly wrong, resulting in hours at the emergency room.
A Perth woman has detailed the painful injury she sustained during a one-night stand that saw her spend more than four hours in emergency.
Micaela, 22, said she was “doing the deed” when the man accidentally tore her labia minora – the inner skin folds at the opening of a woman’s vagina – with his fingernail, causing her to bleed profusely.
Micaela, who had been drinking at the time of the accident, said she did not feel the pain at first. However she soon realised the severity of her injury when she went to the bathroom.
“It wasn’t that painful at first. I think that was because of the alcohol and adrenaline in my system,” she told news.com.au.

“But after a while it became increasingly painful, and I realised there was a real problem when I got up to go to the bathroom.
“I was in so much pain and it was nearly impossible to urinate.”
Micaela explained there was also a lot blood, adding she believed the man’s fingernail had caused the injury.
“It was more blood than I expected considering the size that the tear ended up being,” she said.
“I’m not entirely sure how the injury occurred but I believe it was his nails that caused it.”
The following day, she went to brunch with a friend, but was in so much pain she decided to go to the emergency department where doctors gave her wound a couple of dissolvable stitches.
“I had a gynaecologist come down and make sure we didn’t need to get plastics involved which was a massive relief,” she said.
“Thankfully, the doctors said it will heal fine.
Doctors also prescribed Micaela with a course of drinkable alkalisers to make her urine less acidic while her vaginal wound heals.
“It hurts a lot to go to the bathroom due to the natural acidity of urine,” she said.
“They also told me pouring fresh water over the area while going to the bathroom will help as it flushes off the urine straight away so it stops it from burning the area.”
After spending 4.5 hours in hospital, Micaela was able to return home, stating her sexual partner was incredibly apologetic about what happened.
“I don’t blame him in any way for the accident that occurred,” she said.
She is now sharing her story to help other women who may have sustained similar injuries during sex to feel less alone.
“Sometimes we don’t realise how sharp nails can be, even when cut very short,” she explained.
“If anyone has ever been in a similar situation, please know you’re not alone. These things happen all the time.
“Just make sure you take care of yourself, and seek medical attention.”
Micaela has documented her experience on TikTok where she’s received an outpouring of support from other users.
“I hope you’re OK. Wishing you a quick recovery lovely,” one said.
“This has absolutely happened to me and it is so painful! Glad you’re on the mend,” another wrote.
