A mind-boggling optical illusion has even the most seasoned puzzlers scratching their heads trying to find the answer.

The image shows a grumpy old man having an afternoon nap on top of a pillow, The Sun reported.

At first he appears to be alone, but if you look closer you might be able to make out someone else in the picture.

According to the comments on the original Reddit post, this one is a real mind-bender and not many people can spot it without a hint.

A clue to help people find the man’s wife is to try and make out her hair, with that meaning the viewer is half way to figuring out where the woman slept.

However, if those without the keen eye still can’t see the female figure, they are certainly not alone. Many social media users struggled to find the second person in the image.

One user asked: “Who else couldn’t find the sleeping lady?”

Another commentator wrote: “This is one of the trickiest optical illusions I have seen.”

A third user added: “Even after seeing her. The sleeping old man never leaves for me.”

A fourth wrote: “Despite trying to see a young woman, I only see the old man.”

One helpful commentator gave a big hint, writing: “She’s looking away. Hard to see but the old man’s nose is her jawline.”

Those who were unable to find the sleeping woman were told not to be disheartened, as it is one of the most difficult optical illusions to solve.
