The first prize has been awarded in news.com.au’s Photo of the Week competition.

The winning entry for November goes to Matt Godsell for an incredible photo of his son’s birth. Godsell has won a Sony Alpha 7C single lens camera kit, valued at $3899.

Matt Godsell, VICTORIA

“I captured this photo in the very first moments of my son’s life. The image captures the moment he was delivered by emergency caesarean.”

Heath Missen, QUEENSLAND

“This image of the Brisbane City skyline was taken from the aptly named View Street in the suburb of Paddington. The photograph is a single, long exposure, void of photoshop trickery.”

There are still two more prizes to be awarded in the months of December 2020 and January 2021, so if you’ve snapped a potentially prize winning photo you can continue to upload them here.

The a7C camera is Sony’s smallest and lightest camera and lens systems, but the company says its powers are mighty.

Advanced AF performance and functions, rapid-fire continuous shooting and a handy vari-angle LCD monitor help capture the action whenever it happens – the perfect tool to enhance any budding photographer’s creativity.

Anything you capture can be transferred directly to your smartphone or tablet – meaning you can share with friends and family in just moments.
