New Addison Rae photos reveal a Millennial truth

Some fresh photos of a very famous 23-year-old have revealed a trend is back - that many hoped would never return.

New Addison Rae photos could be triggering for anyone old enough to remember the phrase “that’s hot” being genuinely said in conversation.

The 23-year-old’s outfit was very much inspired by the early 2000s. It included a white striped bandeau top, coral velour low-rise track pants, and oversized sunglasses.

A bikini top was also partially visible under the strapless top. Because why not add some pointless layering?

The social media sensation turned Netflix star turned sultry pop singer was dressed like Paris Hilton used to dress on the reality show The Simple Life.

There’s no disputing that Rae looked great, but the photo could trigger anyone who survived the first round of, “yes, velour track pants are chic.”

It was an era when Lindsay Lohan was always in trouble, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie were best friends, Hilary Duff was dating Joel Madden, and people actually listened to Good Charlotte.

It was a different time and it is coming back to haunt Millennials.

I know what you’re thinking. Just because a celebrity is wearing something doesn’t mean there’s any reason to panic.

When Lady Gaga wore the meat dress in 2010, no one hustled down to their local butchers and started treating it like a Kookai store.

There’s just one problem with that theory. Even though Rae’s outfit is confronting. Who else can pull off low-waist pants besides a former TikTok star?

It is also wearable, and something that could be easily mass-produced and sold at an affordable price.

This means that if it isn’t already, some version of her outfit will soon be in chain stores everywhere.

At first, the outfit will look all wrong, and you’ll joke with your friends that you wouldn’tever wear that.

Then, slowly, you’ll start to see it on enough people that it will look normal and cool, and you’ll fall for it.

Remember the little bag trend in 2023?

Everyone started wearing tiny bags that could barely fit an iPhone in. At first, many of us scoffed and sneered at how impractical the bags were.

Then, after seeing enough influencers and celebrities look good wearing them, most of us caved and spent an obscene amount of money on a bag that you can’t really fit anything into. There’s no need to say it; I know that makes the bag useless.

Soon, a strapless top paired with a low-rise velvet pant that makes you sweat in the middle of summer will seem not like a fashion horror but chic.

It also doesn’t help fashion matters that Rae is in the middle of a big career boost. Her career was going downhill for a hot minute like an Australian Idol winner’s career post-show.

She amassed a massive social media following on TikTok but no one seemed to know what to do with her.

She starred in a cringe-worthy Netflix romantic comedy, and things were beginning to look grim, but then, somehow, she turned it all around.

She released a pop song called Diet Pepsi, started hanging out with pop singer Charli XCX, and went from cringe to cool.

She’s become known for her fashion and style, so when Rae steps out in an outfit, it isn’t just a look, it is a sign of things to come.
