Footage has emerged of the shocking moment a mother in the UK was slammed to the ground by police in front of her screaming baby.

The incident, which occurred in the coastal city of Swansea in South Wales last year, rapidly escalated because the woman believed her complaint was not taken seriously by the police.

Earlier in the day, she had reached out to the authorities regarding a man she claimed had exposed himself to her baby daughter, according to The Daily Mail.

However, after a police investigation, they found that he was homeless and his clothing was torn.

The mother, unsatisfied by the decision, turned “verbally abusive and aggressive”, prompting the officers to detain her.

In the footage shared anonymously on Facebook, she is seen pushing a pram along a bustling street while yelling at the police.

She is heard saying, “I have no time for you. Goodbye then. I will walk away because you are a useless piece of s**t.”

As she turns to walk away, the two officers follow her, and one extends his hand towards her back while warning her to “watch your language”.

She then spins around and yells, “Don’t push me! Don’t push me!” before one officer is forced to take the screaming baby away, while the other tackles the mum to the concrete.

He quickly got her into a headlock on the ground while repeatedly telling her to “calm down”.

“Get off of me in front of my daughter. I’m not grabbing you,” she shouted at the officer. “Get off of me in front of my kid.”

At one point she yells, “I don’t like being touched”, as onlookers started filming the altercation from the street.

Police later confirm the woman was de-arrested.

“South Wales Police received a report of a man exposing himself on Oxford Street in Swansea city centre at 2.30pm on July 5, last year,” a spokesman for South Wales Police said, as per The Daily Mail.

“It later transpired that the man was in fact homeless whose clothing was ripped. Support was provided to the male and necessary referrals made.

“A woman later complained to officers that she felt nothing was being done about the report.

“She became verbally abusive and aggressive towards an officer and was arrested for a public order offence. Following a de-escalation of the incident, the woman was de-arrested.”

After the footage was shared online, commenters weighed in on the starting scene.

“I don’t think that level of force or method of immobilising the woman particularly with a child in pram was necessary,” remarked one.

“Police should be better than this, they should be the experts in de-escalation situations,” said someone else.

“Never should have happened,” claimed another.

However, others pointed out that the footage could have been edited in a way that did not show the full picture.
