Mikaela Testa speaks out after being called fat by a model

Aussie influencer Mikaela Testa has reportedly been unable to leave her house for a week after seeing a video of a model calling her fat online.

Influencer Mikaela Testa has made an emotional video after she was fatshamed by another model after meeting her at an event.

The 22-year-old sat on the floor while eating a pizza – which she shared was her first meal in 48 hours – following the emotional rollercoaster of events.

Adelaide model Kerri Gribble took to her Snapchat after the event where the pair met and gave a “public service announcement”.

“Mikaela Testa is fat in person,” she said.

Mikaela initially responded by brushing it off, claiming if the influencer thought she was fat then that was her problem.

But, on Saturday, she shared a video to TikTok where she shared the real impact of Kerri’s words.

“I have not left the house in a week since that comment was made because I don’t like what I look like and I don’t want to be seen by anyone,” she said.

“I struggled with an eating disorder between the ages of 16 to 21 and it was one of the reasons why I got my surgery because I thought it would fix whatever was wrong with my brain.

“The last thing that I wanted was for this to be resurfaced and brought back because I don’t know how to fix it.”

Mikaela, who makes OnlyFans content, said she always did her best to be real while online and so she wanted so show how much just one comment can impact someone.

But, added she was thankful as she had a good support system around her – something she didn’t always have.

She said if there was anyone out there struggling to eat, she wanted them to watch her video and they could “have a meal together”.

“I don’t know why I let this comment get to me – I think it was because she was my friend,” she said.

She added that after gaining a healthy 9kg following being in the United States, and talking about it online, that she was easily triggered as she had an eating disorder in the past.

Mikaela’s heartfelt video comes after Kerri said the clip that went viral was a drunk Snapchat that was meant to be sent to friends but, instead, was posted on her story for everyone to see.

She said she initially wasn’t going to make a statement, but wanted to explain some things in greater detail.

“I don’t think Mik is fat – I don’t think Mik could ever be fat,” Kerri said.

“I was genuinely taken back by when I saw Mik in person as she does look different in person compared to online, which is fine. I would look different if someone saw me not online.”

She said when she discovered that the Snapchat had accidentally been put to her story the following day, she felt sickened.

“I felt so sad – and everyone saying she’s only sad because she got caught, that’s not true,” she said.

“I was ringing my best friend asking why I would say that about somebody, and my friend said ‘Kerri, you did say the wrong thing but you’re gonna learn from it and you don’t want to be that person’.

“That’s exactly what happened – a week after it was posted, I felt terrible but I forgave myself because if I didn’t make mistakes I wouldn’t learn from them.”

She said the clip was edited and cuts out halfway through but she wasn’t going to explain what else was said in the clip.

Kerri said since the clip was posted, she has been getting threats and those people are no better than her, but she has apologised for what she said.

She added it shattered her heart because she had seen discourse online that there were people who thought “what would she think about my body if she thinks Mikaela is fat”.

“I’m so sorry to anyone who I made feel like their body isn’t good enough,” she said.

Since Kerri’s initial clip went viral, people have called for White Fox Boutique – a brand she collaborates with – to drop her.

Other creators, such as Brittany Saunders who owns FAYT the label, also called out the commentary made by Kerri.
