Kayla Itsines has been pictured enjoying a romantic European getaway with her husband, Jae Woodroffe.
The Aussie fitness mogul was photographed at a beach in Taormina, Sicily, showing off her toned figure in a red string bikini top and black bottoms.
In an Instagram Story shared with her 15.8 million followers, Itsines said the time away – which has also included stays in Crete and Mykonos – with Woodroffe had been “so amazing”.
The couple tied the knot last December in an intimate, backyard ceremony in their shared hometown of Adelaide, after welcoming son Jax in January that same year.
Itsines was previously engaged to Tobi Pearce, with whom she co-founded the High Impact with Kayla programs and the Sweat App, and shares a daughter, Arna.
Reflecting on her eight-year relationship with Pearce in an interview with Mamamia’s No Filter podcast in March, the 32-year-old said it “hit” her one morning that the former couple weren’t “right” for each other.
Meeting – and going on to build a life with and marry – Woodroffe made her realise that, Itsines said.
“I was actually best friends with Jae’s sister, so you know they’re always there but you never see them. Jae and I were really close friends, and we had also become single at the same time,” she recalled.
“We were driving (one day) and wondering what to do with our lives and I was like, ‘Maybe we should just build a friends’ house and all live there’. Then he said, ‘Or we could be together’ … It kind of hit me. I had been in the wrong spot and the right person was waiting. It was Jae.”
Itsines described Woodroffe as “the best husband in the world”.
“My husband now, we’re just so similar and we’re best friends. The first thing that goes right in my life in a day, I’ll call him. If I want to go on a holiday, I want him with me. He’s my best friend,” she said.
“And that was not the case (with Pearce). You just want to be with your best friend.”
Itsines, Woodroffe and their children relocated to Queensland’s Gold Coast from South Australia at the beginning of this year.
The move came after she and Pearce bought back control of the Sweat App for an undisclosed sum, two years after selling the multimillion-dollar fitness and health business to US-based company iFIT.
Itsines said at the time that returning as owners to the business she and Pearce built from scratch was a “full circle” moment.
“I am thrilled to be back as an owner of Sweat, a platform that has meant so much to me and to the millions of women it serves,” she said.
“The decision to regain ownership is about ensuring the best future for Sweat.
“We have always been a platform built for women, by women, providing a secure and encouraging space for them to share their transformation journeys.
“Our commitment to this community remains unwavering.”
