A woman dubbed a “Karen” who confronted a teenager about her miniskirt has been charged by police.

The woman, identified as 48-year-old Ida Ann Lorenzo, allegedly pulled down the teen’s skirt during the incident that later went viral on TikTok.

Lorenzo was heard telling the alleged victim her “a***e cheeks” were hanging out and that she could see the teen’s pubic hair.

She told the teen she intended to file a complaint about the teen with police for indecent exposure.

The alleged victim’s friends were heard telling Lorenzo not to touch the girl, ABC4 reports.

The incident took place at Sakura Japanese Steakhouse in St. George, Utah on Saturday.

Lorenzo, who said she was Utah state employee, bitterly complained that the video went viral and that she had been labelled a “Karen” — slang for an entitled middle-class white woman.

The decision to confront the teen has backfired as police have now charged Lorenzo with sexual battery and she was booked at Purgatory Correctional Facility in Hurricane and released, ABC4 reports.

According to police, Lorenzo said the teen had her skirt “hiked above her vagina and butt” and her pubic hair was exposed. When staff at Sakura Japanese Steakhouse took no action, Lorenzo allegedly pulled the teen’s skirt down, citing the presence of young children.

In a complaint to police, the alleged victim stated Lorenzo approached her from behind without warning, touched her buttocks, and pulled her skirt down, leaving her feeling “startled” and “violated”. Other witnesses also made reports to police.

The teen said she had been wearing underwear and her pubic hair was not exposed at any time.

Lorenzo herself also called police later that night and complained that a video of the incident had been posted online with her name, alleging she had committed a sexual crime.

Lorenzo argued that the video posed a threat to her life because she was employed by the state, reportedly for Utah Attorney-General Sean Reyes. She later told police she had only touched the teen’s skirt.

A TikTok video of the incident was viewed about 2 million times but has since been removed from the site.

A friend of the alleged victim later posted a follow-up video on TikTok and said a complaint would likely be filed with the woman’s employer.
