Jono Castano, Simone Holtznagel break up two months after baby
A popular personal trainer and his model girlfriend have reportedly called time on their relationship two months after having a daughter.
A celebrity personal trainer has posted an adorable photo of his four-month-old daughter a day after confirming his split with her mother.
Jono Castano and model Simone Holtznagel welcomed their child, Gia, together on March 31, with Castano taking to Instagram on Wednesday to post a photo of her.
He tagged Holtznagel and captioned the photo “Our little G”.
But despite the public appearance of unit, it has been reported the couple have been living apart, allegedly calling time on their relationship in May, according to Daily Mail Australia.
“We just decided it was best for her to spend time with her family in Wollongong,” Castano told the publication.
“Who knows what the future holds our idea is just to be the best parents for Gia at this stage.”
The publication said the pair are on good terms, with Gia’s best interests being at the core of their decision making.
The former couple were in Tasmania with Gia, Castano’s ex Amy and her new partner over the weekend.
News.com.au contacted Holtznagel’s management for comment who were unable to comment further.
Castano did not respond to requests for comment.
Speculation mounted that the couple had split over an Instagram post that said: “Everyone has limits and it’s important to look out for you own wellbeing”.
The duo met in 2021 after Castano split from his wife Amy, whom he owns Acero gym with. His relationship with Holtznagel became public after the pair were spotted kissing at Merivale establishment Mimi’s, which is owned by Justin Hemmes. Hemmes is dating Holtznagel’s sister Madeleine.
The pair laid bare their post-baby life in a revealing interview with Stellar magazine, which hit shelves on April 28.
When asked about the topic of marriage, Holtznagel, 30, joked that Castano had to get divorced first but they were basically married with baby Gia in their lives.
“First comes baby and marriage could be the next thing, eh? It is just one step at a time I guess. Now that the baby is here, we can focus on everything else,” Castano said in the interview.
Holtznagel also detailed in the interview how incredibly uncomfortable she felt during the last two weeks of her pregnancy – and tried every old wives tale to get things moving along.
Eventually, after being prepared with tanning, having her hair and makeup ready, she went into a 14-hour labour three days after Gia’s due date.
“Having a baby, you’re so exposed; every person that has been coming in and out of the room, you’re like splayed open, you don’t have any kind of modesty. If I was covered in blood or whatever else was going on, I at least wanted to look nice,” she said.
