‘I spent $73,000 to look like Barbie – now men treat me like a toy’
A woman who spent thousands to make herself “more attractive” has revealed the unexpected downsides to looking like a real-life Barbie.
A US woman who spent over $70,000 to make herself “more attractive” has claimed her surgical enhancements have backfired.
Mz Dani, 35, has spent her hard-earned cash on fillers, Botox and threading in a bid to make her face look more symmetrical.
Since undergoing her transformation, the influencer has racked up 653,000 followers on Instagram and landed work as a model thanks to her likeness to Barbie.
However, she says her surgical tweaks have turned her love life into a disaster, stating she can’t land a boyfriend because men view her as a “toy”.
“My dating life is extremely hard,” she said.
“Men look at me as a toy. They see my outer appearance before they get to know me.
“It’s very rare that a man wants to get to know me for who I am.”
While dating in real life is “difficult” for Mz Dani – the name her fans know her as – the model has plenty of admirers online.
One of her most recent posts has been flooded with adoring comments from people stating she’s “gorgeous”.
“Well you certainly are out of this world,” one remarked.
“Beautiful,” another added.
Someone else commented: “Absolutely stunning.”
With her blonde hair and curves, Mz Dani – who has spent $72,500 on plastic surgery – is often compared to the iconic Barbie doll, adding she’s a big fan of the famous toy.
“I think Barbie is beautiful,” she said.
“She is the perfect look that everybody wants to be – long slim legs, small waist, bubble butt, big boobs and slim arms.
“Barbie is the ultimate queen. I used to play with her as a kid and wish I could be perfect like her.”
However Mz Dani said she hopes Barbie’s manufacturer, Mattel, will one day create a doll with curves.
“I think making dolls curvier would give a more realistic idea that woman come in all shapes and sizes,” she said.
“It also would help young girls feel more comfortable being who they are from a young age. I’d love to be a representation for that.”
She’s not the only one who is loving the “Barbie-look” at the moment with a new trend called “Barbiecore” gaining traction.
The trend isn’t just about appearance though, with it influencing everything from clothing to home decor.
Khloe Kardashian recently embraced the trend for her 38th birthday in June, wearing a skin-tight PVC dress in the iconic pink colour and donning a blonde hair-do.
