Shoppers are gearing up to get to Aldi bright and early after a Special Buys item created excitement on social media.

Crafty Aussies are getting excited over a limited edition item set to hit the Special Buys aisle at Aldi supermarkets this week.

Featuring 151 different pieces, the Aldi Special Buys Wooden Art Box has set social media on fire as this week’s must-have item.

It includes oil and watercolour paints, oil pastels, pencils and other essentials that budding artists need to begin creating their next masterpiece.

There are also paint brushes, palette, sharpeners and felt-tip pens among the collection.

It retails for $49.99.

The item goes on sale on November 9 and is only available while stocks last.

Hundreds of social media users said they were keen to get their hands on the art set.

One social media user said: “OMG I must have this!”

“I bought one each for my two granddaughters and they were a smash hit,” another woman said.

“I’m gonna have to get there early, aren’t I?” a third said.

“This reminds me of the ones we used to get for Christmas as kids,” another wrote.

Meanwhile, many others tagged friends or family to ask if it would be a good Christmas or birthday present.
