A husband’s “entitled” act as his wife was about to cross a finish line has angered, with many arguing it exposes a grim truth about marriage.

A dad’s “entitled” act in the final moments of his wife’s marathon has been slammed by social media users, with many arguing it exposes a grim truth about marriage.

Footage of the moment he seemingly sent his children out to hug their mum as she was nearing the end of the undisclosed race has drummed up more than nine million views on TikTok, and over 24,000 comments.

The clip starts with the woman sprinting toward the finish line ahead of the rest of the pack, as her husband and two kids watch from the sidelines.

It then shows the man pushing the children out to greet their preoccupied mother right before the finish.

The pair run out in the middle of the path to hug her as she tries to wave them away.

Fortunately, the woman manages to bypass her children and blast through the tape to win the race – with the camera showing the man shrugging his shoulders instead of celebrating his partner’s victory.

The overwhelming consensus among the clip’s viewers was that it was, as one put it, “a realllllly good example of the subtle way that some husbands treat their wives”.

Others argued it proves a woman’s serious commitments outside of her family life are treated like “a joke” or just “for fun” by their other halves.

“I can just hear him say, ‘I had to ‘babysit the kids’ for an hour and 40 minutes, and you couldn’t even stop to give them a hug?’” another wrote.

“This man shoves his kids out into the middle of a race: safety hazard! To derail his wife’s time and chance at winning” a third person said.

“Then after she crosses the finish, he gestures to the side like ‘Hello? The kids!’ Reader, I hate him.

“She’s clearly a serious runner, tracking her time, and winning the race. And he couldn’t let her have that moment? She’s clearly worked hard for it. I’d have a divorce lawyer on the phone before the car got home. Blech.”
