Frustrated city workers hit back at Christian preacher’s rants

A controversial American Christian preacher claims he is trying to bring light and love to Australians. But people on the street aren’t having a bar of it.

No one cares’- Florist burns preacher

A Christian preacher from the US has been slammed by city workers including a florist and a tradie who didn’t want a bar of him.

When evangelist Phillip Blair, of Torch of Christ Ministries, walked through the Sydney CBD and targeted someone in a wheelchair, a florist quickly came to his defence.

“You’re in a wheelchair. God can touch you but you’re too bitter to ask,” Blair shouted.

“He can’t walk, all right? Gosh. You keep yelling and screaming for no reason — no one cares.”

“There is a reason, people are going to hell,” he replied.

The florist shot back with, “That’s okay” before Blair continued his evangelical rant down the mall.

In the video shared by Torch of Christ Ministries titled ‘Passion and fire in Sydney’s financial district’, a tradie watching on also turns around to also take a swipe at Blair.

“You’ve just slated the man for being in the wheelchair, and you’re talking about people going to hell?” he asked.

“Yes,” Blair replied.

“Well you’re going to hell for saying that about him,” the tradesman shot back.

“No I’m not — I’m here because I love you, man.”

“No you don’t, you don’t know me,” the tradie finished before walking off.

A group of men in business suits also walk past when he tells them God “sees your tears”.

“No he doesn’t,” replied one of them.

The video begins with text explaining how after 10 minutes of preaching in the financial district of Sydney the “spiritual atmosphere began to shift significantly”.

“The rest of this day, I felt very burdened by the hardness of hearts here in Australia,” Blair wrote.

Blair has been professing his love for Sydneysiders who frustratingly reply that he doesn’t even know them.

The latest video comes after the anti-abortion preacher boasted about triggering “fierce backlash” on a train in Sydney earlier this week.

One agitated man said Blair was being selfish for not keeping his opinions to himself and disturbing everyone loudly on their morning commute.

“Who’s the selfish one here, mate?” the irate passenger asked him.

“Who’s the one who won’t shut up with their opinion? How selfish is that?”

Passengers in the carriage cheered.

His evangelism tour of Australia started on March 27, moving to other locations around the country this week.

Others have taken to slamming him on social media.

“Just leave our wonderful country ya great whingeing malakka,” wrote one man.

Blair does, however, have a strong group of supporters who cheer him on for the preaching work he does and the character it takes to do so loudly in the middle of crowded places.
